he is so you.

i leave for tour tomorrow morning, by now it takes me about 20 minutes to pack, not including me having to do laundry. i woke up with no sense of urgency at all. i went to barnes and noble and bought some seasons of arrested development, and then i went to best buy to purchase some CDs, yes best buy. Volume CD's, the independent store that was near by, closed recently, and this is the 2nd and final store in the chesapeake area to close....so what does that leave me? Best Buy, FYE (bleh) and Barnes and Noble...hmmm. If anyone knows of any good book stores in the area, let me know. Anyway, I bought the new Eddie Vedder CD (the soundtrack he did for "Into the Wild"), the new Down CD, and the new Weakerthans CD...that is a lot of new music to take, especially in addition the new radiohead, but whatever. I'm packed now, and I'm trying to figure out how to get a ride to the bus that is waiting, I need more friends....for rides to the bus :-) I bought a few new pieces of gear for my rig, and i've posted pictures. It's not too much, I need another line 6 unit, but they don't make the rack mounted versions anymore. Anyway, the new additions have made it easier for me, so I say it's worth it. We're gonna stop in Pittsburgh on the way to Grand Rapids, and in Pittsburgh I must eat at Permanti Brothers, they have one in Ft. Lauderdale, but it's not the same. I saw that movie Michael Clayton the other night, I love movies, especially ones that make you feel like the 9 dollars was worth it. George Clooney and Tom Wilkinson, also Sydney Pollack...ughh, so good. I don't have anything else to say, consider yourself lucky.

I've felt like that before when I've had lots to do, actually.. sort of inertia kicking in - almost surreal. The funny thing is those days the timing often goes quite well when there is no good reason that it should.

We basically have Best Buy. FYE and Graywhale. Graywhale does a lot of exchanges and used cd's, although some of the used prices seem a tad high to me. But you've been to two different Graywhales out this way to do acoustic performances before.

Bookstores here are sparse. :( Just Barnes & Noble and LDS bookstores mainly. There used to be a huge Borders in SLC, but it closed.

The last movie I went to was to kill some time before doing some concert promo for Mute Math at another concert I didn't have a ticket for (The Donnas.) I was grateful that I paid the matinee price. I'm woefully out of the loop on the movie scene. I'll look up the info. on Michael Clayon. I've never been much of a George Clooney fan, but then I've never been a huge Jim Carey fan, either and he is the star in two of my favorite movies.

zach,
ask capitol to make a tour date in london ontario next time. it's 2 hours south west of Toronto and has 35 000 university students and a college renowned for its record production and video programs... so there's definitely an audience for a good rock show. We have a ton of sweet clubs where Radiohead, Matt Good, Our Lady Peace etc have all played in their day
i know this is unrealistic but I thought I would try : )

heyy zach! i've seen you on your last 2 tours and i was planning to come see you in november in NYC but your time there coincides with the School of the Americas protest in Georgia. i feel socially obligated to attend the protest and end the horrible wrong that is the SOA. so i just want to wish you luck and say that i will certainly catch you next time around. enjoy the tour and keep us posted! peace.

I go to Best Buy for most of my cds. There is this indie record store called Electric Fetus in Minneapolis and it is my favorite! I would go there more often but it is a bit of a drive out of my way but worth it when I make the trip. See you November 24th! :-)

i read rogue states - it was very insightful! thanks 4 the recommendation! as far as that going on right under our noses in georgia - im sure there are tons of horrors that go on in this country everyday and just fall under the radar (or get pushed under by the powers at be) its truly an atrocity which is why we have to do all we can to put a stop to these disasters while we still can.

Basically, I'm going through and reading all of your blogs since I just found this. I must say I'm enjoying it quite thoroughly.

I asked on the Mae Forum last night if you guys had cars at home. As I laid in bed after posting it, I was afraid it was a ridiculously pointless question. This post made me feel better.

I'll give you a ride.
=)
