limewire girl.

Tonight we did a small meet and greet before the show. The girl who had won the meet and greet had bought our new CD, and I asked her friends (she brought 4 friends with her) if any of them had bought the CD....they had no problem saying that they downloaded the CD (their candid nature was amusing) and that comes has no surprise when you take into consideration their age, combined with the costs of CD's these days. Although one of her friends proudly claimed that she was indeed a "Limewire" girl, but it was this same "Limewire" girl who jumped at the chance to say that she had bought the Motion City Soundtrack CD the first day it had came out....I thought that was funny, we called her out on it..in a humorous way of course. Although, kudos to her for picking up the new MCS, we're having a good time with them so far. Also, I just saw Perry Ferell on a Pontiac football commercial singing with 50 cent and someone else...strange.

the cost of CD these days are ridiculous - double the $US price of CD's there and you have the $AUS (australian) price for CD's here.

im torrent girl.

The guy that sat next to me at work used to use Limewire a lot. He also managed to get a virus on his roommate's computer via Limewire, which didn't go over well.

You can find cd's reasonably priced enough, although not always the first day of it's release. I try to preorder or buy at shows when possible. I can't see how some of the record stores stay in business charging what they do.

Anyway, I preordered your cd, and I'm rather happy with the purchase.

i have no problem spending $10-12 for quality music. sure, it adds up when you love music so deeply, and there are bands actually putting out something decent, but i figure buying your cd is a way of affirming to you how much i appreciate and love what you guys do. also, i'm kind of particular...i like to physically hold a cd in my hand. downloading (bought, stolen or free) has its charms, but when it comes down to it, the cd itself and the book that goes along with it are part of the whole experience, as was emphasized with the Everglow. i don't want to miss out on that.

I use iTunes, myself, but if I find an album of a band that I really like and it's not outrageously expensive, I usually pick it up, even if I've already got it on my computer. I like to read liner notes and they don't always have them available on iTunes.

I'm glad you're having fun with MCS.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't buy your cd either, but I don't discriminate. I just don't buy anyone's CD. I spend my money on shows instead.

Sometimes when I hear about a new band I don't know much about, I download their album to see if I like it or not. If I do, I go out and buy the album and if I don't, I'll just delete it. That's how I found out about you guys, actually, and now I have a legally bought copy of all your CD's. Although the whole file-sharing/torrent thing squicks me now, and I prefer borrowing friends' CD's or listening to songs on Rhapsody before deciding to buy or not.

I only buy albums from artists that I know I'll enjoy. If I download something, and listen to it enough and like it enough, I'll go out and buy it. A lot of music these days is mainstream crap that all sounds the same. It's nice to try it before you buy it. :)
But there are only 3 bands I buy from without listening to it first... Mae is one of them.
