hey! no name calling sister.

this might be sort of lazy, but for the next few days i'm just going to post songs that i love lyrically. i feel lame having others describing certain aspects of my personality in song...i mean, i could very easily do it myself. but seeing that there are so many great songs out there, and all of my posts currently will probably just be me griping about A:: lack of love (and i'm not talking about a person) B: the absurdity of living C:: stagnate ponds in summer heat D:: so on and so forth.

so here's the first one----

Well, you're my friend
And can you see
Many times we've been out drinking
Many times we've shared our thoughts
But did you ever, ever notice, the kind of thoughts I got

Well you know I have a love, for everyone I know
And you know I have a drive, to live I won't let go
But can you see this opposition, comes rising up sometimes
That is dread full imposition, comes blacking in my mind

And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
Did you know how much I love you
There's a hope that somehow you
Can save me from this darkness

Well I hope that someday buddy
We'll have peace in our lives

Together or apart
Alone or with our wives
And we can stop our whoring
And pull the smiles inside
And light it up forever
And never go to sleep
My best unbeaten brother
This isn't all I see

Oh no, I see a darkness
Oh no, I see a darkness
Oh no, I see a darkness
Oh no, I see a darkness
Did you know how much I love you
There's a hope that somehow you
You'll save me from this darkness

this is a bonnie "prince" billy song. listen to it.

The majority of the time I find I am at a complete lack for words to describe how I'm feeling. I always use songs lyrics. Other people can put words together better than I can anyhow.

I see nothing wrong with using song lyrics to describe your feelings. (Why reinvent the wheel?) Anyway, it's something songs often do quite well. It's also nice to know that someone else goes through the same things or else who would they write about them. It's funny... when I was trying to think of what to say to you in SLC, I decided what I most wanted was to give you a hug. I hope you find the love you are seeking. You are definitely loved.

You know it would be kinda fun to go out with those "Free hugs" signs someday. LOL

Take care, Melanie

i think for people who are deeply moved by music, lyrics and notes are sometimes the only way of expressing personality. i listened to this song and it's really quite honest and beautiful.
